Saint Kathryn Church in Hudson, New Hampshire was built in 1968 as a temporary mission church of Saint John the Evangelist Parish, which was the first Catholic Church built in Hudson. The original Saint Kathryn Church was opened on the corner of Lowell Road and Wason Road. Saint Kathryn "Chapel" was opened and blessed on June 21, 1968. The Decree of Erection of Saint Kathryn Parish followed soon after on October 4, 1968.
Saint Kathryn Parish is a parish of the Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire.
The church was named after Saint Catherine of Siena. "Kathryn," the Gaelic spelling of the saint's name, was chosen because the man who donated the land for the church wanted his wife, Kathryn, to be remembered.
The first Pastor was the Reverend Gerald F. Chalifour. At that time, there were 221 families, 927 Souls, 491 adults, 59 high school students, 221 grammar school students and 156 infants enrolled as parishioners.
The Reverend Albion Bulger was appointed administrator of the parish on June 3, 1970 and as pastor on December 1, 1971.
The Reverend Aime Boisselle was named pastor from March 10, 1976-June 16, 1976.
The Reverend Arthur O. Houde was made pastor on June 23, 1976.
The Reverend Eugene Pelletier was named pastor of the parish on October 15, 1981.
The Reverend Patrick Irwin became pastor of Saint Kathryn's on June 15, 1982.
The Reverend George H. Robichaud was named pastor on October 30, 1991.
Monsignor Joseph E. Desmond was named as administrator of the parish on February 7, 1992 and served as pastor from September 1, 1992 to December 9, 1993.
The Reverend Gary J. Belliveau became pastor on December 9, 1993.
Project 2000: Saint Kathryn’s Going and Growing into the Future began to prepare for the building of a new church.
The groundbreaking ceremony at the Dracut Road location of the new church was held at sunset on June 27, 1999.
The old Saint Kathryn Church was formally closed on June 11, 2000. Sunday Masses were held in the cafeteria at Presentation of Mary Academy and weekday Masses were held at the former Oblate Retreat House until the Dedication of the new Saint Kathryn Church on August 12, 2000.
The Reverend Joseph M. Cooper was appointed pastor of Saint Kathryn's on September 6, 2011.
